The Hub Is Open — Meet the Specialists Taking Appointments at Omega Writers 2026

Registration for Omega Writers Conference 2026 is now open — and with it, bookings for one of the most valuable parts of the weekend: the Hub.

If you haven’t encountered the Hub before, here’s the short version. You book a 30-minute one-on-one appointment with a working industry professional — a publisher, agent, freelance editor, or industry expert — and you get their full, undivided attention. No panel discussions, no talking to a crowd. Just you, them, and whatever you most need to move forward with your writing.

This year we have 14 specialists across four categories, and we want to introduce them to you.

Publishers

We’re delighted to have four publishers joining us in the Hub this year, each with a heart for connecting with writers and a genuine interest in what you’re working on.

  • Donna Harris Authentic Media
  • Justine Grayson Grace Bell
  • Rochelle Stephens Wombat Books
  • Rowena Beresford Riveted Press

If you have a manuscript ready and you’ve been wondering whether it might be a good fit for a traditional publishing house, this is your chance to ask questions and start that conversation.

Agents

Literary agents are often the missing piece for writers dreaming of the broader Christian and general market. Our agents this year span two of the most respected agencies in the faith-based publishing world.

  • Tamela Hancock Murray Steve Laube Agency
  • Dan Barlow Steve Laube Agency
  • Jen Babakhan Books and Such Literary Agency

Whether you’re query-ready or just starting to understand how agenting works, 30 minutes with any one of these three will give you clarity you can act on.

Freelance Editors

Not every manuscript needs a publisher first — sometimes it needs an editor. These freelance editors bring specialist craft knowledge that can help you understand exactly where your work is and what it needs next.

  • Nola Passmore The Write Flourish
  • Kiara Thomas Faith-inspired works, children’s literature, memoirs & non-fiction
  • Larry J Leech II Freelance editor & writing coach — devotionals, fiction & book proposals

If you’ve finished a draft and you’re not sure whether to submit or revise, a Hub appointment with an editor might be the most useful conversation you have all weekend.

Industry Experts

This category is deliberately broad — because the writing journey involves so much more than the manuscript itself. Marketing, speaking, platform, ministry, the business of writing as a Christian in the current landscape. Our industry experts cover it all.

  • Carolyn Miller — Author of 50+ novels — traditional & indie publishing, marketing and author branding
  • Meredith Resce — Traditional & indie publishing, general writing advice
  • Kiara Thomas — Author branding, website appraisals & social media
  • Angela Mackey — Marketing, author branding & non-fiction writing (In Person guest from USA)
  • Katrina Roe — Children’s author, media professional — marketing, editorial feedback & general writing advice

If your question doesn’t fit neatly into “publishing” or “editing,” an industry expert appointment is probably where you want to start.

Not Sure Where to Begin? Come to the Free Zoom Session

If you’re looking at those four categories and not sure which one is right for you — or you’ve never done a Hub appointment before and want to know what to expect — we’ve got you covered.

On 10th June at 7pm, we’re hosting a free Zoom session: All About the Hub: Your Questions Answered and How to Prepare. We’ll walk through how the appointments work, who the specialists are, and how to make the most of your 30 minutes. Come with questions. There are no wrong ones.

Register via the link below — it’s free and open to everyone, whether you’ve already booked or you’re still deciding.

Hub session costs and practicalities

Appointments are $50 for members and $70 for non-members. Hub bookings close on 28th September, at the same time as general conference registration — places are limited and first in rule applies so start thinking and praying about these appointments sooner rather than later. Appointments are available both in person and online, so you don’t need to be attending the full conference to book a Hub session.

The Hub exists because we believe Christian writers deserve access to the same quality of industry conversation that every other serious writer does. These 14 people have said yes to sitting across from you and giving you their honest, expert attention. That’s not nothing. Bookings are open now. Head to the link below to grab your spot.
