Bookings are open for our biennial Omega Writers Conference, Building Blocks and Pathways.
Dates: October 16–18, 2026
Theme: Building Blocks & Pathways
This year’s event brings together an inspiring lineup of international and local speakers, designed to equip, encourage, and challenge writers at every stage of their journey.
Featuring International Speakers
We’re honoured to welcome Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith, a physician, bestselling author, and respected voice in faith-driven creativity and sustainable performance. Her work thoughtfully integrates scientific insight with biblical wisdom, offering practical and spiritually grounded guidance.
Her sessions will explore:
- Building sustainable creative rhythms
- Finding rest as a writer
- Approaching marketing with integrity and purpose
- Practical PR strategies through her hands-on workshop
Joining her is Mark Ritchie from the UK, a dynamic communicator and performer known for blending humour with powerful storytelling. With years of experience at the Edinburgh Fringe and on global stages, Mark will challenge writers to think differently about creativity and communication.
His sessions will focus on:
- Breaking creative limitations and unlocking innovation
- Writing humour with authenticity and purpose
Returning Favourites
We’re also delighted to welcome back a range of trusted speakers, including Penny Reeve, Dr James Cooper, Dr Pete Court, Katrina Roe, and Nola Passmore—bringing expertise across storytelling, editing, non-fiction, and historical writing.
Friday Intensive: Manuscript Development
For those wanting a deeper dive, Rochelle Stephens will lead a limited-capacity intensive for children’s and YA writers. Participants will receive pre-prepared editorial feedback and spend dedicated time refining their manuscripts in a supportive, hands-on environment.
The Hub
The Hub gives conference delegates only exclusive one-on-one appointments with publishers, literary agents, editors, writing coaches, and industry specialists. Whether you are seeking publication, wanting professional feedback on your manuscript, or looking for guidance on marketing and building your author platform, the Hub has someone who can help.
