The conference brings together an exciting mix of international and Australian speakers, offering wisdom and encouragement across writing, creativity, storytelling, publishing and faith.
International keynote speakers Dr Saundra Dalton-Smith from the USA and Mark Ritchie from the UK will be joined by Australian speakers including Penny Reeve, Rochelle Stephens, Nola Passmore, Dr Pete Court, Dr James Cooper, Adam David Collings and Katrina Roe.
We have scheduled a number of electives, including beginners’ workshops.

Opportunities to explore your next pathway
Sometimes the hardest question for a writer is: What’s next?
Should you concentrate on improving your manuscript? Seek an editor? Consider traditional publishing? Explore self-publishing? Work on your platform? Find your readers? Or simply keep writing?
The conference Hub provides opportunities to meet with editors, agents and experienced industry professionals through individual appointments. These conversations can help you gain perspective, ask questions and consider the pathway that’s right for you. Don’t forget to book your specific appointments as early as you can, as there are limited spots available.
And you don’t have to be a polished, published author to benefit. Wherever you are in your writing journey, having the opportunity to talk with someone who understands the industry can help you see your next step more clearly.
Something special for Kids and YA writers
For those writing for children and young adults, there is an additional opportunity to go deeper.
The Friday morning prior to conference, publisher and mentor Rochelle Stephens will lead a limited-capacity intensive focusing on essential aspects of children’s and YA writing and pitching. Participants will also receive editorial feedback on pre-submitted work and have the opportunity to work actively on their manuscripts. There are only a few spots left for this intensive.
It’s a chance to move beyond general advice and spend focused time developing your own writing.

One of the great gifts of a writers’ conference is discovering that you are not alone.
Writing can be an isolated occupation. The hours spent wrestling with a manuscript, wondering if your story is good enough, navigating rejection or trying to understand the publishing industry can sometimes feel like a solitary journey.
